VERD° UNIT
VERD° UNIT is designed for the greening of smaller squares, courtyards or play areas of schools and kindergartens. The free-standing modules can be flexibly combined to provide spaces for get together, recreation or play.
The basic VERD° UNIT module is 4 metres high and covers an area of 10 m². The modules can be combined freely into larger structures and aligned according to the requirements of the location. This allows the creation of cool, shaded spaces or small green landscapes for a variety of usage scenarios – to provide shade in public squares and terraces, as a cover for sandpits, as an outdoor classroom, a learning garden or a space to play or chill in the school playground.
Like all other products of the VERD° system, VERD° UNIT enables the efficient shading of sealed surfaces and urban spaces using fast-growing, annual climbing plants. For kindergarten or nursery scenarios, non-toxic and edible plants can be selected to turn the green roof into a snack or school garden.
The supporting structure of VERD° UNIT consists of solid wood elements made of untreated larch, stable nodes and galvanised steel poles. The solid construction conforms to the safety requirements for playground equipment according to DIN EN 1176-1, but can still be easily be disassembled. The climbing plants grow in textile planters, which are filled with a special organic substrate in spring.
